June Schedule Changes for Empire Service in NY

Just received a notice from Amtrak about my planned trip from Utica to NYP in June. I was originally scheduled on Train 280 at 7:50am but now am moved to a Train 282 leaving at 9:50am. Looks like they eliminated both Train 280 and 284 and created this new train. No explanation and was not real happy since I will be getting to NYP two hours later and probably missing the original Acela I was going to take to PVD.

I suppose this involves track work by CSX starting in June since the April and May schedules remain with 280 and 284.?

Wonder if this will be a trend for service on the LSL and Empire trains throughout the summer?

If that change is for the entire summer, it sure is unfortunate....peak travel season, with reduced service rather than increased service....

After checking latest schedules it looks like the 282 special will be running the entire month of June but July schedules show the 280 and 284 back on.
