It's called double booking, and as far as I know, it's strictly forbidden.

That is not the same as double booking, which would be booking twice but only paying for one. She's actually trying to pay for two.

Hi new guest who resurrected this three year old thread. Amtrak allows for booming two seats only what medical conditions require out, not just for comfort.
