    Speed

Taking my grandson (8 years old and first train ride) from Flint to Chicago next month. What is the top speed of 365 and 364? Where does it reach this speed.

    Wilmington

My wife has never been to Delaware. In the fall, we're taking the train from DC to Philly for the day. I know the train stops in Wilmington. Does it stop long enough to get off for a minute? Are you allowed to get off if you don't leave the platform? Thanks in advance.

    Alaska

Is there any way, by rail, to get from Vancouver, BC, to Anchorage, Alaska? I HATE to fly and will not fly except in EXTREME emergencies. Thanks.

    Nook on a train.

Notice I said Nook, as in the Nook you buy at Barnes and Noble. Does the web browser work well on a train? I understand they use cell phone technology so they should, but I just wonder if there are any users out there who have personal knowledge. I don't own one yet but I am leaning that way...

    Scanner

I know a person can listen to the radio over the net. I know you can watch some TV shows over the net. Is there a site you can go to so that you can listen to Amtrak trains over the net? Like a scanner site? Anything?

    SLC station.

The last time I was in Salt Lake, 1990 (I know, a long time ago), Amtrak was using a beautiful station near downtown. Maybe the Rio Grande station? Today I was looking for the station and didn't find it. The Rio Grande station is now restaurants, shops, etc., with no tracks in sight. Ditto for...

    Timberliner

Does anyone remember the "Timberliner" that ran from Detroit to Mackinaw City? Did it have sleepers?

    Cruise ships

Is Amtrak partnered with any cruise lines like the airlines are. If going on a cruise, one can usually arrange transportation to the port in a package that includes air and cruise.

    Atlanta station

I was just looking at some pictures of the Atlanta Amtrak station on Google earth. Is it as run down and decrepit as it looks? If so, that is a horrible black eye on Hotlanta. What a shame. How is the neighborhood? Safe at all?

    Chicago-Florida

Is there any possibility there may be a Chicago-Florida train again? Are there any plans at all for one?

    Beech Grove drive-by

I'll be going through Indy in a couple of weeks. If I drive by the Beech Grove facility, how much will I be able to see from the street?

    Owosso, Michigan

The big train festival starts in Owosso tomorrow. The 1225 will be there along with the locomotive that pulled the Daylight. That loco has never been east of Chicago until now. I'll be there! :D

    America by Rail

I got a brochure from America by Rail today. I realize a lot of things are included but the prices sound a little high to me. Anybody traveled with them? Are their trips a good deal?

    Blue Water survey

A few weeks ago, I took a trip to Chicago from East Lansing. I love trains, no matter. However, Amtrak sent me a survey to fill out and boy, did I rip them. Don't get me wrong, I loved the trip and the train but they gave me an opening. I ripped them on cleanliness, inside and out, food, OTP...

    Kansas City

I'm going to be in Kansas City (never been there) next week. Is the train station worth a visit? Anything else I should not miss? I'll only be there two days.

    What have you ridden?

I'm just curious, including Amtrak, what passenger train lines have you ridden when they were actual train companies? The lines I can remember for myself are Amtrak, New York Central, Santa Fe, Southern Pacific, Canadian Pacific, Canadian National, Grand Trunk, Algoma Central, Via, and L&N.

    Speedy

We took the Blue Water from East Lansing to Chicago yesterday. It was a much better trip than I expected. The train was actually almost on time and it was a good ride. We turned on a GPS between Kalamazoo and Niles and I was amazed to see we were doing 97 MPH. When we slowed to 75, it felt like...
