I wonder if Siemens might be the frontrunner (over Alstom and Stadler) to eventually win this contract due to the fact that they are already building numerous Venture coaches for Amtrak.

Which Gateway document said that--can you share it? And are you saying that only two additional trains per hour would be able travel through the Hudson Tunnel Project segment or the future four track segment between Kearny Junction and Manhattan?

How do you know that trans-hudson train capacity would only increase by two trains per hour without Penn Station South?

Stadler is making FLIRT trainsets for Amtrak California. So Stadler will likely put up a strong bid for Amtrak's new bilevel trains.

If Stadler makes such comfortable trains, than how come they don't make as much revenue as Alstom and Siemens?

I believe that Covid delayed the Airo order by one year. Amtrak anticipates releasing the new Superliner RFP in the near future and signing a contract for the next-generation coaches in late 2024. I believe that Amtrak will stick with bi-level coaches and pick either Alstom or Stadler.
