Does anyone have advice for navigating Denver Union Station? I'll be on the EB CZ and was wondering if they had a shop to purchase snacks and beverages. Does the stop allow us enough time to walk around the station and explore?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks all.
I was able to decipher the differences on the WB SWC yesterday. I found it very easy once i spotted the "H" room window on the lower level of the sleepers.
Hi All,
Is there anyway to decipher the difference of a Superliner Coach and a Superliner sleeper?
I live off of the BNSF Chicago rails and the CZ and SWC travel through twice a day. I can spot the Transdorm due to the small upstairs window and I know what the SSL and Dining cars look like...
If you are staying at the Club Quarters on Adams, take the Orange Line to the Adams/Wabash stop. The hotel is half a block down Adams. The north entrance of CUS is on Adams, so you could easily get a cab or walk(depending on luggage) west on Adams to CUS the following day.
Tyler,
Congrats on being an explorer as well. E42 is one of the largest houses in the city and E98 is the oldest. There is a station a few blocks from CUS(closest house to CUS) on Wells in between Van Buren and Congress. E1 and T1 are there. If you return to CHI, try and make it to Navy...
Im interested to know the answer as well.
They had some severe weather in Iowa yesterday, which was remnants from Hurricane Andres out of the Pacific, that might be a reason.
CISHIP- I second the idea of Dylans. Great place and close to CUS.
MikefromCrete- Does the Metra that travels south out of the LaSalle St station still have the bar car on Thursdays and Fridays? All it consisted of was a bartender from the bar standing in a vestibule selling beers out of a...
Traveling through Indiana-Illinois-Iowa, you will see plenty of farm land. If the crop isn't corn, it is most likely soybeans. Both are about the same greenery at this time of season.
Blue and Lonestar both had great ideas, and you will be limited depending on the weather. Going out and looking at the river is neat, especially if its nice, there will be boats going back and forth. Be very cautious in attempting the Skydeck at Sears Tower(it is and always will be the Sears...

This is quite an old thread but can anyone help me?
I see here that the LSL gave a wine and cheese reception for sleeper passengers. Is this still the case or were there budget cuts?
I do not want to side track the topic, but....
"Low" gas prices are very temporary. Do you know why $2.99/gal is "low" to our society? Because we have come to accept it as a low price. Hence part of my previous post.
I can go on about domestic output and OPEC not cutting production, but...
Just want to add a quick comment...
To answer the original question: Yes, but what percentage of Americans will ride them?
I am in my early 30's, my wife and I prefer train travel to air, or car(heaven forbid). We prefer rail travel for several reasons, mainly relaxation and comfort. If we...
Again going back to main thread- I am not an early to bed type, if the room is set up for night when i board, will they have an issue if i raise the lower bed back up? I plan to sit and relax for a bit before calling it a night.
Olypian-LOL!
All,
I have only been on Superliners, and the layout of the train is generally- sleeper, sleeper, sleeper, dining car, lounge car, coach, coach, coach.
How are the Viewliners laid out? Is there a lounge car?
