This is old news now and I did not notice any posts at the time it was announced on May 28, but it is a positive step that there is some attempt at improving and standardizing the station experience across the network. We can fault Mr. Anderson's assault on long distance trains, but his background in the airline industry is a benefit in this instance. I was happy to see some ongoing sprucing up at the seedy Pittsburgh station. It's not a great deal of work, mainly painting and a long overdue rehab of the escalator which has been out of service for over a year. Too bad Amtrak did not post a list of projects. Perhaps the collective group can point to new activity they have seen. What Amtrak needs to address as much as this is the on-board experience with their employees. As we all know, that varies widely.
