Is there a part of the Amtrak website where the consist of a train can be checked? Interested in the order of the consist between LAX and SAS of the combined SL and TE for March next year.

Thank you

There is an old forum on this website which has the consists of every train. It has not been updated for years, but the train consists on Amtrak really haven't changed in the last 4 years.

For what it is worth, here is what is listed as the SL/TE consists

----|---- —— Heritage Baggage

0131|0231 —— Superliner Dorm/Sleeper

0130|0230 —— Superliner Sleeper

----|---- —— Superliner Diner

----|---- —— Superliner Lounge

0113|0213 —— Superliner Baggage Coach

0112|0212 —— Superliner Coach

2115|2215 —— Superliner Coach **[CHI]

2130|2230 —— Superliner Sleeper **[CHI]

That has been the consist for the past several trips I have made on the TE. I've always been in the 2130/2230 sleeper at the rear of the train.

You should have the following consist between LAX and SAS on #2/#422.

P-42 (2),New Bag Car,Transdorm,Revenue Sleeper (#2),Diner,Sightseer Lounge,2 Coaches (#22),Coach (#422),Revenue Sleeper (#422).

So to get from the TE sleeper(s) which the majority show as at the rear of the consist to the SL sleeper(s) it is a walk almost through the entire train and usually the SL sleeper(s) are the car(s) immediately in front of the diner?

The benefit of the 421/422 sleeper on the SL: is that you have the rear view out of the train's rear door. This makes for some great photo opportunities. Yes you have to stretch your legs through the coaches and the SSL to get to the DC, but after you sit enjoying the beautiful countryside pass by your window, the 350 foot walk feels good to my old joints.

Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas and hoping all the kids that are traveling tonight have been reassured that Santa will not forget them because they are traveling.
