Denton County operating contract goes to FirstGroup, the same guys that operate the Great Western service among others in the UK, and Greyhound among others in the US.

This is their first rail service operating contract in the US.
I actually quite like the job that they have done at the First Great Western franchise in the UK.
They also run Heathrow Connect, and the Trans Pennine Express. I have used Trans Pennine Express to travel from Edinburgh Waverley to Manchester Piccadilly. Not as nice as Virgin Trains West Coast Pendolinos, but acceptable in the form of upgraded commuter stock with trolley food service. They also operate the London Tramlink in the UK.
