I'm thinking about a quick trip from Chicago to Lafayette on the Hoosier State both ways. There seem to be two hotels within a third of a mile of the Amtrak station. How's the walking in that area at night? Tough neighborhood or is it full of Purdue thugnerds packing slipsticks?
 
They keep the Purdue thugnerds in West Lafayette. The station is right downtown and I have never felt uncomfortable even boarding the Cardinal late at night
 
Thanks, Dam555. I guess the Keuffel & Esser Line separates Lafayette from West Lafayette?
