I haven't been on a LD train since before COVID and saw at one point they really scaled way back on service. I just went on Amtrak just now and looks like everything is back to normal again. Is that true?

I am taking the Pacific Surfliner to San Diego in April for a cruise. I may give myself a couple of arrivals cushion should one crater on me and to grab a decent breakfast rather than the snack bar on the train. Is there a place they can hold my luggage for a few hours?

Did anyone see this? I was excited to see stock footage of actual Amtrak cars and the conductor wearing an Amtrak hat until they stepped into the cars. WOW! Has Amtrak gotten fancy since I last rode or is that Hollywood Magic again. Bedrooms big enough to have a desk. Old style roomettes...

I just received an email form my Wednesday train trip to San Diego that there is no baggage service available that day. Why might that be?

Thinking of doing a late spring early summer turn around trip on #7/8 CHI-Seattle-CHI. I see 7 gets in around 10 AM and 8 leaves around 4 PM. Is it safe to do an arrival departure the same day or should I overnight?

Just a follow up, I sent a letter to Washington and received an apology letter yesterday in the post. Inside was a $75 voucher. Compared to sleeper prices, it is a token gesture, but at least something to say they cared and to try them again.

With two of us in one roomette it was a bit cramped, plus as I am not disabled I did not think I could do that.

Not sure who to write to about this but... We took CZ5 on 6 June from CHI - EMY and was just about 100% full. Every sleeper and just about every coach seat was taken. We had a 7:30 dinner reservation and did not get seated until 8:30 the first night, the first breakfast and lunch was first...
