Great reveiw! Chicago is a regular destination for me. If I fly in, I usually stay at the end of the Blue line and take the El in but always looking for a reasonable downtown hotel for when I take the train. I will keep that holiday inn in mind!

Most of time I get thru what I think is the survey then they tell me they already have enough of my demographic. The surveys for Southwest are the same. Now I don’t even bother most of the time.

Ive gone sleeper many times. I just wasnt sure I was taking the train this trip. I was paying my nieces way so needed to be as frugal as possible. So by the time I decided for sure, and did every combo, the actual sleeper for 2 legs was over $1000. So for the difference I decided to suck it up...

Unfortunately I waited too long to get a low bucket fare. $800 sleeper vs $300 coach.

Thanks. Our big ones we are checking all the way thru, and our carry-ons are rolling ones, so I think we'll be OK. Will check into the baggage storage if we end up with too much to haul!!

Thanks, that info helps! As long as I let my hotel in Chicago know, late arrival won't be a problem. Not excited about the outside possibility of spending the night in St Louis, but I guess that would be part of the train experience!

What's the chance of me missing the Lincoln connection after getting off the River Runner since there is only 1 hr between trains? And if I miss it, what are my options?
