We were there last August, the rotating restaurant is completely gone and replaced with an enclosed glass floor viewing platform. It was lots of fun! They have mini glass floor Zambonis tooling around to keep the view clear.
Second on 13 Coins - love their pasta.
Alternatively, there's another in walking distance from the SeaTac link station if your so inclined to ride more rails.
It appears that the SL was off the disruption list for a bit, but was back on the list in a day or two. I've been watching it closely as we due to board at NOL on the 13th.
At this point they are saying they will post an update "on or before" the 12th (that's cutting it close), we have a back...
Yes indeed it was, we arrived in Chicago at 12:50 local time. Amstew for everyone for dinner and those that missed their connections were given box lunches on arrival and were put up in sleeper cars (instead of hotels, which I thought was brilliant... and fun). Rested, I'm now heading out of...
From what I could gather on the radio, the pax was irate about the delays and was supposed to detrain at Vancouver but was waiting at a door that didn't open. Sounded like they were happy to get rid of her.
#8 was about 3 hours late leaving Whitefish this morning. We are now stopped just a bit inside the HiLine subdivision waiting on traffic siting switch and signal issues on the mountain. They are saying it will be very slow over the mountain due to the snow.
Tonight's 27 out of Portland was 3:20 min late leaving Vancouver due to waiting on 14 stuck across the river due to a malfunctioning bridge, then police activity to apprehend a suspect on the Willamette bridge, then a Columbia River bridge lift, and now we're stopping in Camas to drop a...
Well... 28 was held at PDX for a late 14 due to that bridge malfunction and finally departed around 6:45pm. Now we're sitting just south of the Willamette bridge waiting for "police to apprehend a suspect on the bridge" (confirmed via scanner).
Just for future reference, the CPAP fit easily on the upper step sideways against the wall. The only thing I forgot about is that the power is cut during switching in Spokane, at which time my partner woke up with a gasp!
Thanks for the suggestions! I always have plenty of extension cord when traveling on Amtrak, but it will be my fist time sleeping in the upper berth. ☺
I will be traveling soon in a superliner roomette with my partner who needs to use a CPAP. Does anyone have any experience with where to put the CPAP machine when in sleeping configuration?
All I can envision is to put the CPAP on the top step to the upper berth, but I'll need that step to get...
I'm on this run from CHI - MSP tomorrow. Hope to have video from the open platform leaving Chicago to Glenview, leaving Milwaukee to just past Pewaukee Lake, and La Crosse to Red Wing along the Mississippi (if we're not running so late that it gets too dark). My daughter got me a suction cup...
