I recently asked some questions about the Galesburg station and received some good information. I am now asking the same about Ottumwa, Iowa. Is there long term free parking at the station? I do know there is an AmericInn only a block or two away...Thank you.

Since moving back to the Midwest I will be departing from the Galesburg Amtrak for my occasional train travel. Is there free and somewhat plentiful long term parking? What is the closest hotel to the station?

This what my sister is looking at. Crew is out of hours she says. We were born and raised in a town like this so didn't need to ride a train to see it! Somewhere near Minot ND.

Can you give an example of how a smoker would speak of his concerns in a reasonable way.? This could be useful information for smokers.

It interesting to say the least, for some of us who grew up in the 50's when people smoked everywhere; grocery stores, doctor's offices, school functions, some church basements to think that the sight of someone with an unlit cigarette in his mouth would no doubt cause mass hysteria. I'm not...

I agree. I have never understood the non smokers fascination with what smokers are doing. My husband smokes and I know how careful he is in public places. I think we all understand that it is not a healthy thing to do and others should not be subjected to it ,but the tattle tale mentality...
