    Amtrak footwear requirement?

How could they possibly enforce a 'no open toed shoes' requirement? People suggest here and on other sites that you bring flip flops for use at night when you need to go to the bathroom. Wearing open toed shoes is always a risk, but, when traveling many people don't want to have their feet all...

    Chicago Metropolitan Lounge Questions

We're visiting wineries in every state. It's easier to bring home a label from a bottle of wine that we enjoyed than empty wine bottles. Wine labels are also easier to display on a wall than empty wine bottles.

    Chicago Metropolitan Lounge Questions

Spacious shower! A hairdryer has other uses besides drying hair; taking wine labels off of bottles, drying clothes that you wash in the sink that aren't dry when it's time to pack them up in the morning....

    Chicago Metropolitan Lounge Questions

Thanks for your help! I might just skip washing my hair so I don't have to take my hairdryer for that 1 time.

    Schenectady Station

A friend did a RT to/from there; she and her brother went into the station - they both said it looks gorgeous now! And they said it was safer, dry and warmer than it was before.

    Chicago Metropolitan Lounge Questions

We'll be in the Chicago Metropolitan Lounge next month and I have a couple of probably silly questions. After a night sleeping in Business Class I am going to want a shower. Will I need to bring soap and a hair dryer with me? If they have hair dryers it will be 1 less thing I have to carry. Thanks!

The Future Is Cars, Because Trains Suck

We priced out driving vs taking the train and the train was cheaper. And we both get to enjoy the scenery. And there's no arguing about route - do we follow my husbands gut or the GPS which is always a 'fun' time in the car....

Wine Question (packed in carry-on bags?)

Now that I feel we'll be OK bringing wine on the train with us.....We actually have a padded carrier that holds 12 bottles of wine; it has wheels and looks like a normal weekender. I hope to use it for one of our carryon's, putting each bottle of wine in a large ziplock bag and the electronics...

Wine Question (packed in carry-on bags?)

Thanks for the reassuring responses! Years ago we made a goal of visiting a winery in every state; in some states like Alaska and Hawaii we couldn't get to a winery, but, we did buy wine from a local winery in a store near where we stayed in the state. On this trip we plan to visit a winery in...

Wine Question (packed in carry-on bags?)

We'll be traveling on the Empire Builder and the Lake Shore Limited in May. We plan to visit several wineries on our trip and plan to bring some wine home. We'll be in roomettes on the Empire Builder and Business Class on the Lake Shore Limited. If we leave the wine in our carry-on bags and keep...

    Buffalo Depew station

Taxi to Canalside - fresh air, things to do. If it's Winter and a weekend, check the Sabres schedule. If it's April thru Sept check the Buffalo Bisons schedule - they're the AAA club for the Toronto Blue Jay's.

    Empire Builder Questions

We are traveling west in May, getting off/on the train in Whitefish. I'm excited that we get into Whitefish within a couple of minutes of sunset and leave there at 7:40 so we'll be awake for Montana coming/going in daylight.

    Regional BC Drink Issues

Grocery stores make money from product placement, meaning they sell space on shelves and the people that pay more get more shelf space, more shelf space at eye level etc...
