NS makes it official today: HQ moving to Atlanta

It wasn’t mentioned, but they don’t start moving people until next summer and it’ll be a couple of years before they completely vacate the building.
 
A substantial part of this is that NS is selling off the land around the so-called "Gulch" in downtown Atlanta for development.

This is going to hem in the railroad tracks and will probably make it impossible to ever get a passenger station in downtown Atlanta.  Well, that's Atlanta for you.

Plans for a viable Atlanta railroad station are now looking to Doraville instead (which would connect to MARTA) or near "Atlantic Station" (which wouldn't)
