Will the Emprire Builder have the extra coach on board for the Thanksgiving week and the following week to and from Chicago to St Paul?

Well, a few days now, the Empire Builder is running with only one coach in the Seattle section, instead of two (summer? consist has two coaches in both Seattle and Portland sections, seems strange ). Maybe that frees a coach to be refurbished before the busy thanksgiving week?

Sorry, dunno. Changes happening. Who can tell?

It had only one coach, but on at least one day sales capacity was not adjusted, and had 90 seats sold for the one 60 seat coach

Did they end up "bumping" 30 passengers or did they scrounge up another coach at the last minute?

This most likely occurs between msp-chi. The 28(6) that I rode on had the one Seattle coach too. The train was close to sold out. Iirc 70 got on at msp. Decent crowds at red wing and Winona too.
