One of the larger Broad Gauge Garratt Engines ever built, that saw service for many decades on the Bengal Nagpur Railway and on South Eastern Railway after 1947, has been restored and is likely to be seen on rail enthusiast and tourist runs on South Eastern Railway out of Kharagpur 80 miles west of Kolkata.

My Grandfather, who worked for BNR worked on trackage that saw these mighty engines pull heavy coal trains on, so we as a family have a bit of an attachment to these beautiful engines.

Good news.

I hope that public runs will be adverzised sufficiently in advance. I would consider coming to India to ride behind it.

Not quite sure what they mean about coal being shoveled in on both sids of the boiler though.

Maybe confusing a garrat with a fairlie?
