Ex Pennsy Colonial Crafts and its stable mate ex Boston and Maine Salisbury Beach were slated to leave Pittsburgh on No. 42 this morning. Unfortunately in the middle of the night the battery box started smoldering Pittsburgh Fire Department was called to the scene and quickly extinguished whatever fire was there. All passengers were moved to the the Salisbury Beach while the crafts remained in Pittsburgh.
And train 42 departed on time without a delay due to PVs. The Crafts will move later this week to Morristown for a replacement battery box, and a new paint job.
