I am planning a visit to San Francisco, and am interested in riding the new Sonoma-Marin train. It looks like the bus shuttle between the Larkspur ferry terminal and the San Rafael SMART station is only available southbound in the morning and northbound in the evening--not workable for a round-trip originating in SF. How hard is it to get from the ferry to the train? Would there be taxis waiting there?

Uber and Lyft are numerous. 31 bus, 29 bus. Taxis hang out at the ferry terminal.

If you want to take transit:

You are required to have a Clipper card to ride SMART. So, you'll have to pony up for the extra $5 to buy a card and then load it if you don't already have one.

Give yourself plenty of time if you're around any transit at rush-hour. You'll have a crush-load of impatient commuters greeting you at the ferry terminal in Larkspur.

And being the North Bay, you can indeed get either a Lyft or Uber in seconds (nearly every Lyft driver is also an Uber driver; use both apps to fish for the better fare. Chances are, you'll have the same person driving.)
