New to site. Loving all the helpful info. Mostly use rail for business travel when I'm on east coast. Comfortable seats no long security lines and I can work and look out the window. Internet and phone access. What's not to like about train travel !

Unfortunately west coast and mid USA train schedules are not very traveler friendly

And I may do a train vacation on west coast for fun. Suggestions welcome!
 
What is not traveller friendly? The overnight part or many of them in general?

Nonetheless, please enjoy Amtrak!

West Coast train trips would mainly be the Coast Starlight (ocean from Ventura to San Luis Obispo), and of the 4 western LD trains.

We also occasionally quarrel over whether to end the Cardinal or not :ph34r: (looking at you, Philly!) :p
