Hello, Everyone
Although my wife Pat and I are new to AU, we are long-time AMTRAK riders. Over the years we’ve traveled cross-country on Empire Builder, California Zephyr, Coast Starlight, Capitol Limited, and (our favorite train) Southwest Chief. Our “home station” is downtown San Diego’s historic mission-style station dating from 1914. It is from here that we will catch a Pacific Surfliner to Los Angeles Union Passenger Depot, where our rail adventures actually begin. For each of our AMTRAK trips, we make it a point to write down our observations and experiences, which later appear in trip reports that are posted on-line. (Most of our earlier trip reports can be seen at the On Track On Line site.) From now on, all of our trip reports will be submitted to AU.
