Looks awesome! I wish it were not so expensive, though. Is there other rolling stock available or jut Armour Yellow lightweights? I see you got lots of mail and baggage cars plus three domes. I believe domes were rarely hauled by steamers, but when it did happen it must have been a sight to sit at the front and watch the steam rise up.

$20 is pretty cheap for something such high quality as this locomotive haha, This pack does come with a specifically scripted SD70ACe that can be used as a helper locomotive. You can actually control the diesel locomotive from the cab of 844 via the MU control stand.
 
I'm pretty sure I broke the Mallard's speed record here by a long shot lol. We start out at the MMC in Kearny NJ and make our way south to the start point of the test, which is just west of Metuchen. If you want to skip this part and go right to where the actual acceleration and speed tests start, use this time stamp: 25:40.

From there, we accelerate through Edison before coming to a stop at New Brunswick. From New Brunswick, the throttle is applied and stays wide open until just outside of Trenton. We manage to balance on level track at 128 MPH before coming to the down grade just outside Hamilton, where we pick up to 132 MPH. After coming to a stop over the Delaware River, we lay up at Morrisville Yard to end the test run. Enjoy the trip =)

Welcome aboard the first of several long excursion runs that I will be making with UP 844. Today, she will be in charge of two Pacific Surfliner trains, numbers 572 and 583. Our consist will be comprised of a mix of Amfleet cars and Union Pacific Heritage cars. Join me as I take control of the most advanced steam locomotive built for RailWorks to date. As this is the first long distance run with stops I've made with this locomotive, you will see I go through a learning curve through the course of the video. I do over-run a few times during the first third of the run, and you will notice that my skill at quilling the whistle improves dramatically.

1:17:50 - 1:27:00 Fullerton to Anaheim (Yes, I over-run Anaheim, since I'm not yet used to the feel of the brakes in the locomotive at this point during the run. My braking skills do improve during the course of this video haha.)

1:48:45 - 2:03:15 - Irvine to San Juan Capistrano
2:04:30 - 2:37:00 - San Juan Capistrano to Oceanside Transit Center with some 100 MPH running action.
2:40:40 - 2:55:16 - Oceanside to Solana Beach with 90 MPH running action.
2:56:05 - 3:31:00 - Solana Beach to San Diego Old Town with hard 2% grade climb beginning @ 3:05:10
3:31:45 - 3:42:05 - San Diego Old Town to San Diego Union Station / Santa Fe Depot
3:42:05 - 4:30:54 - After refueling the locomotive (not seen in the video) we proceed to turn consist around via loop track south of San Diego in preparation for the northbound run of train 583.
4:41:37 - 4:48:40 - We depart San Diego Union Station / Santa Fe Depot about 30 minutes late and head towards Old Town.
4:48:40 - 5:19:10 - Old Town to Solana Beach with the return down the 2% grade @ 5:04:00
5:20:28 - 5:34:40 - Solana Beach to Oceanside with 100 MPH running.
5:34:40 - 5:56:30 - Oceanside - San Clemente Pier with 100 MPH running.
5:56:30 - 6:09:35 - San Clemente Pier to San Juan Capistrano. An in game bug @ 6:01:20 causes the two dome cars at the rear of the train to magically get sucked into a black hole or something; just try to ignore that haha.
6:11:00 - 6:25:05 - San Juan Capistrano to Irvine. Very good intentional wheelslip action coming out of San Juan Capistrano. By this point, I was familiar enough with how much power and at what speed would generate wheelslip, so I played around with the sander to simulate a "tough" start upgrade. Also, in my carelessness, I forget to adjust the switches for the siding just outside of Irvine... it's amazing that I went over a 30 mph switch at 100 mph and didn't derail LOL.
6:25:50 - 6:35:40 - Irvine to Santa Ana with 110 MPH running.
6:35:46 - 6:45:25 - Santa Ana to Anaheim
6:45:25 - 6:53:55 - Anaheim to Fullerton
6:53:56 - 7:25:22 - Fullerton to LA Union Station
7:25:22 - 7:45:30 - Shunting 844 back into the siding where she started her day.

Welcome aboard the Sherman Hill Excursion Run that will be powered by UP 844. Our consist today will consist of 16 passenger cars weighing in at about 1000 tons. The #844 has her work cut out for her, it seems. I will also be running the advanced version of UP 844, which has more realistic control physics. Finally, I show off a feature on the #844 that is brand new to TS2015 and the RailWorks series: the ability to bail off the independent brake. This is something that was custom coded by Smokebox and, prior to the release of UP 844, has never been a feature that was available to the player.

0:00 - 15:05 - #844 shunts out of the Cheyenne Roundhouse and couples with her excursion consist.
15:05 - 28:25 - #844 backs out of Cheyenne Yard with her consist onto the mainline track 1.
28:25 - 40:20 - #844 pulls her train from the switch junction into Cheyenne Depot to pick up passengers, where she poses for a few photos before departing.
40:20 - 55:45 - #844 departs Cheyenne and begins her run towards Laramie via track 3. I choose to run up the shallower grade bypassing the summit on my way to Laramie because I didn't want to use a diesel helper for the long 1.5% grade that is the mainline. Also, the shallower grade conserves water which is in short supply since I can't, for some reason, refill the tender at Speer.
55:45 - 1:46:00 - #844 departs Speer after a failed attempt to top off the tender with water (to ease my low water anxieties later on in the run) and runs up the 0.8% grade on track 3 up to Dale Junction, where she rejoins the mainline. Even with the grade and the heavy consist, #844 shows off her power and manages to maintain track speed (50 mph).
1:46:00 - 2:12:35 - #844 coasts down the opposite side of Sherman Hill down towards Laramie. I do attempt to use the brakes to ease the decent and follow the 45 mph speed limit.
2:12:35 - 2:53:00 - #844 arrives at Laramie, unloads passengers, and poses for pictures before proceeding to wye her train for the return run back to Cheyenne.
2:57:10 - 3:19:04 - #844 departs Laramie, and heads up towards Sherman Hill via track 3, briefly attaining speeds of 70+ MPH on the shallow grade before running into the 1.6% grade, which slows her down to around 30 MPH.
3:19:05 - 3:30:54 - #844 rejoins the mainline at Hermosa and continues on towards the summit.
3:31:12 - 4:02:55 - After cresting Sherman Hill, #844 glides down the 1.5% grade of the mainline back towards Cheyenne.
4:02:56 - 4:09:10 - #844 arrives back at Cheyenne and drops off her passengers.
4:09:55 - 5:00:20 - #844 spends the remaining hour switching her excursion consist back to its original position, before proceeding to the refueling track (for another failed attempt at refueling) and finally back to her starting position at the roundhouse via the turntable. You can view the performance report from the expert fireman if you keep watching long enough haha.
