I'm sitting in the BC on NER 178 leaving WAS at 4:02 pm.  It didn't seem that crowded in the station or the Club Acela, but the conductor just got on the tannoy and told us that 500 passengers were boarding in DC and they expected to max out at 700 down the line. I wonder if they're running a 9 or 10 car train.

NBC evening news showed a photo of Penn Station showing wall to wall passengers.  I believe they said things are moving very slowly due a technical issue.

The corridor coaches are 72 and the single BC is 62, that's what I was basing it on... maybe they were just counting 9 passenger cars and not the cafe... 7 coach plus a B/C won't get close to 700. without lots of standees

As much as I enjoy riding the train, Thanksgiving is the one time of year I want to stay off of the train; I'll happily stand trackside and watched the packed sardine cans roll by :)
