Yes I mean just who is this lounge meant for then? How many people actually are in sleeper cars? I know when I go in there at 9 am when my train arrives in CHI it is not crowded at all so why keep us out? My ticket for under 2 hour ride is $50 in BC, so for $100 round trip I think you could...
this is horrible! I have been a regular rider for nearly 20 years. I no longer go back and forth from Michigan like I used to but when I go to Chicago for appointments on a same day trip I count on that lounge to have a quiet(er) place to work. Totally sucks!
The article about these leaves me underwhelmed sadly. Glad I'm not a regular rider anymore but still do occasionally take the Wolverine/Blue Water/Pere Marquette between MI and Chicago.
any word on expanding the option to select your business class seat on trains other than the NEC trains? Would LOVE to be able to do that on the Michigan Services trains!
hey Tim, no, not really - just here and there...since COVID we've mostly stayed in Michigan with occasional trips into the city - sometimes driving, sometimes train. But being in a beach town (in MI) in summer is an easy choice! LOL!
yes I did know 352 is still there but at the moment I am not traveling weekly on it...I WILL be more often though starting in August so my August trip has now had to move to the 364 into NBU, several hours later, and with the delays the Michigan trains seem to keep having lately, that's no...
We stopped one time after there was a VERY drunk guy mouthing off non stop (years ago, not mask related)...conductors called ahead for police to be where they were going to stop. They got the drunk guy off the train and you could see out the window the police pulling out MULTIPLE MACHETES from...
Totally willing to keep wearing a mask while traveling until we have much more certainty around odds of infection. Too many people still crying about masks and things not opening up but not willing to wear the mask or get vaccinated. The sooner more do their part the sooner we get to where we...
I know several of the conductors on the Pere Marquette, Wolverine and Blue Water Michigan trains. Even after the pandemic hit the few times I got on the train we all still knew each other's names, where we live, etc. I only wish the staff at Chicago Union Station would be better about that...
I always take Wolverine BC for all the same reasons plus the added space/legroom is very helpful when you are working on a laptop, which I always am. However they are only selling 50% of the seats now, so on this train that's 7-8 seats total. So you will either have 1 single seat alone along...
very nice lounge but not sure they will have food/drink out due to Covid, but in terms of space to relax it's nice, clean, tables, chairs, comfortable other chairs, etc.
I am getting on the train today for a 2 hour ride...did it last week too and a couple of other times since they instituted the 50% booking. On top of that I then get a Business Class ticket so even fewer people in the car. I feel safe and this last time I did a double mask - N95 and one over...
