I am planning a trip between Chicago and Seattle and would like to know if leaving from Seattle travelling eastbound will offer better daylight scenery than leaving from Chicago. Thank you.
Earlier this year I stayed at the Loyal Hotel near the Space Needle. It was only a 5" Uber ride from Union Station. Older but completely redone and inexpensive. I will stay there again.
I took that trip in January and enjoyed staying at the Homwood Suites about 11blocks up the 16th St Mall from Union Station. As you may know , buses run constantly up and down the mall, are free and stop at every corner. The walk from the station to that hotel is very enjoyable with many great...
I took that route a couple weeks ago and was amazed at the snow and trees coming in to OR. I was told the view at first is really not much to see so sleeping was fine during that time. I was disappointed that the route does not come close to the coast until the last couple hours.

I plan to travel on the CZ from Denver to SF then on to Seattle in January. Any concerns with making this trip in the winter? Will the scenery be as pretty as other times?

1. When riding coach how much carry on items are allowed?
2. Is it safe to leave items (backpack or suitcase) at my coach seat while going elsewhere during the ride?
3. Is drinking water available during the ride or...
