I am on the CS now heading towards Eugene. We left from LA with the PPC and used it last evening. Today is much more crowded and last night they filled up dinner reservations.

Currently on the CS in a lower level roomette and we were missed by the dinner time staff member. Went upstairs to the Parlor Car for a pre dinner drink and found him working that crowd. Claims he did all the sleeping cars but must have missed lower levels! So beware now we have late dinner

I totally agree with the berth idea. They are two high have a huge bathroom in that car and make into a long bench seat during the day. Another reason to go off season you could sleep up and have access to the lower seating during the day. The space seemed large and comfortable to us

We are arriving from a cruise at the Port of Long Beach spending the night and then taking the train north to Portland,Or. My question is there a closer station than LAX union Station to begin from the port area hotel Hyatt Long Beach?

As previously said, if you are in the sleepers you have access to a shower on the lower level of the car. I have used them several times with success !

Check your only plugin when you enter your roomette for your CPAP use. Mine was not usable at all unless the plugin was taped in place . Use the showers they are of good size, clean and lots of hot water.
