Glenwood has a great local bus system and a very nice RFTA bus that goes up to Aspen. I’d make it a two night layover.
I stayed right across the street from the station a few years ago. I was amazed how many folks were in the hot spring fed pool as snow fell at Christmas.
I vote for west bound also if you had to choose just one direction. Both have great scenery. West bound you can sleep through Iowa and Nebraska. I went Christmas week and dawn occurred right as we sat in Denver Station. Fresh snow all up through the mountains. Gorgeous.
This is the Sanford loading area.
Couldn’t find my pic of a truck loading but I saw many full-size work vans packed to the gills being loaded. I’m sure a std F-150 will load even with those huge side mirrors if they swing in or retract.

Right. We can’t have those Canadians crossing our border. ;)
They can fly over it but can’t drive or even walk across it.
But hey, the southern border is wide open for all to enter.
So far this is a one-way street. The U.S. has not opened it’s northern border. How does this impact returning U.S. citizens or trains has not been made clear.
Maybe they should consult with the Detroit 3.
They have used computers in vehicles for years and the only vehicle I ever had computer issues with was ‘81 K car. No nightly upgrades, yeah you Apple, security patches or just glitches of any kind.
Nothing more uniquely American than the great road trip across country. Our company employed mainy interns from around the world. All were impressed with our highway systems, how far you can drive without showing papers, the wide open midwest plains and mostly the freedom to go anywhere at...
Another factor to be considered is transportation once you get off the train or plane. Particularly considering the odd arrival times of so many trains. If time or cost are close I’d just as soon drive and have my own vehicle at destination. Driving is still my favorite mode of LD travel. Air...
