Seriously, driving from Memphis to Birmingham is in no way "much longer" than driving from Jackson. In fact, it's the exact same distance over roads of the exact same quality. US-78 from Memphis to Birmingham is interstate quality for all but about the last 3 miles where it intersects I-65...
It's six blocks from the train station to the Greyhound station. I wouldn't call that far away. BHM's biggest problems right now are the station is a dump (and smells like a cesspool), and it's in a neighborhood I don't like to go to even in broad daylight.
No, that's just it. We eat CRABcakes. Not tartar sauce cakes. And certainly not cocktail sauce cakes. Save the cocktail sauce for your shrimp and the (shudder) tartar sauce for your Filet-o-Fish ;)
"Later, much later"? Seriously? Shannon Bream reported at 10:08 that the individual mandate was struck down, based on the initial reading that it was unconstitutional under the commerce clause. One minute later - ONE MINUTE - Megyn Kelly reported (correctly) that it was upheld as a tax. If...
What part of MaRyland did you come from where they traditionally serve tartar sauce with a crab cake? In 42 years in Baltimore, that's just weird to me. A good crabcake doesn't need any kind of "sauce".
Um, no. The 249 track miles are from NEW ORLEANS to Pensacola, not Mobile to Pensacola. Your 58 road miles become 104 by detouring through Flomaton, adding only 46 miles to the straight line distance, not 191 like you calculate above. The train took 2.5 hours to cover that distance, and I...
It wasn't a tornado, it was a hurricane. The labor day hurricane of 1935 that blew the FECRR away in Islamorada, Florida, ending the 23 year service on the overseas railroad.
Thanks for the lesson, I didn't realize that, and I go through Charlottesville on the Crescent regularly. Of course, lately it's been dark, but that's changing, so I'll pay closer attention next time.
