I'm not sure what you mean FormerOBS. If that's the single level car I should be fine. If it has more than a few steps(ex: more than 4) I can't do it. I never said I can't walk, I can't do flights of stairs. Well, walking depends on the kind of day I'm having.
Thanks for mentioning the seat direction OBS. I have vertigo so that might cause a problem and yes they are wheelchair seats. Apparently anyone with mobility impairment is assigned one of those seats. I'm not in a wheelchair but I do use walking aids and no, I cannot do more than a few steps...
1) Does anyone have any recommendations for some kind of folding cart I can use or would that be considered a piece of carry on?
2) I'm going to go cooler shopping this week. Would you please provide links to the coolers you have taken? I'm really trying to find a decent sized one but most...
LCL turned into LTL(less than truck load). I used to haul containers out of the railheads around Cleveland. A dirty and thankless job but I learned how much frieght rail was annoyed by passenger rail if an accident(Amtrak hitting something usually) held up the freight. For as little as that...
I was waiting for this to happen. When I lived in Cleveland(west siyyeeedddd) it was an underground secret that the safest place in the city was the train station. /sigh
I've always said it was the wrong size glass. :giggle:
I remain hopeful that I wont be delayed too badly going eastbound, that I'll be as comfy as possible for 3.5 days in my one coach transfer seat, the rowdiness towards Williston will be at a minimum and that I'll catch my connection in...
Thank you for being proactive in looking into the issues that occured. For myself I would really be in a bind if I couldn't get to a working toilet on the lower level. Food while a seperate issue I'd be able to deal with, the toilets would definitely become an issue quickly. I'm hopeful that...
The CVR was very useful in helping to determine what the pilot was doing leading up to the crash Germanwings Flight 9525 as well as a prior flight with the same co-pilot. I think it would be a good compromise in this situation for rail usage while still allowing privacy.
Thank you triple C.
Saving links for future reference. I'm assuming I'll be able to pick these up at the station:

Celiac disease is really a tough one to deal with anywhere you go. There are different forms of wheat proteins in almost everything we eat. You will have to bring your own almost anywhere you go to be on the safe side.
Overcooked, salty green beans and corn are no comparison to fresh fruit and vegetables. The dry and hard in places bisquit doesn't look equitable to the dinner roll in the box either. At least make the comparison as close to possible as to what's in the box. KFC can't compare. The $8 I paid...
Aside from asking about a folding cart of some kind I'm trying to locate some kind of schedule that tells me approximate days/times for stopping at other places. For example; I know I'm leaving Chicago westbound on the Empire Builder on a Sunday at 1415(approx.). What might be the best guess...
I was waiting for something like this to happen. It's too bad they won't go the way the airlines do with the two black boxes but I also see a side intention(and I'm speculating): the more money they spend on safety the more they can justify asking for and possibly get some of it from Congress.
KFC also isn't including fresh fruits and vegetables. I paid just over $8 for a KFC meal without a drink or cookie. You can just see why there is such a price difference between the two pics from the recipes used. Considering how much food costs at fast food joints and restaurants paying...
