Got an email saying if I do I get some rather meager 25% coupon off Acela and regional trips. Normally I skip surveys as when they say 5 minutes to complete it ends up being a hundred questions and takes three times their estimate. This one is so bold to estimate 15-20 minutes! My guess is there...
Got a $300 travel voucher for a heavily delayed train trip few months ago. Can I book a full fare ticket with those funds and use the companion coupon?
Specifically looking at taking the Cardinal from NYP to CHI . For trips in December it is pricing at $500 for a roomette for one person ...
Ok good to know phone call was simple. I just called and cancelled and can confirm it was painless. It seems there phone system even lets you attempt to cancel the card via their menu options. But I knew it was too good to be true as it said it "encountered an error" or something and transferred...
Anyone tried cancelling this card online? I seem to get some website errors when trying to use the "secure messaging" links. Guess I will just mail a letter. In the fine print of the statement they say to cut the card in two and mail it to:
P.O. Box 2673 Omaha, NE 68103-2673
I've never mailed...
Anyone had luck churning this card? I am cancelling mine this month and will wait till next year to apply again.. Had good success churning the Bank Of America version using this one card every two year cycle.. ( multiplied by 4X family members )...
I do tip when there is some attempt at friendly service. But if they make it clear they are only going to do the bare minimum, why does that deserve a tip?
A restaurant is totally different as one is expected to tip at least 15% even for bare minimum service because they are not paid enough.
Is tip expected for "bare minimum service"? Specifically for sleeping car and dining car attendant. They do their job but nothing more. When receiving such service are they still expecting a tip? I understand that these folks make a proper living wage with benefits . So the standard 20% tip...
Was on the Lake Shore Limited that departed Chicago Jan 14'th. It arrived in NYC 8 hours late. On top of being late, all the bathrooms broke down half way into the trip. Sleeping car attendant gave minimal updates on the situation. And worse of all there was a surly dining car attendant. She...
I want to go from NYC to Chicago on a roomette and am flexible on dates. So can I keep bidding low and if not accepted then change my dates of my flex fare ticket? Is a bid of $130 for such a trip likely to get accepted?
For sure it depends on the season, but let's assume this month. I see I...
Are Seats 3A/3C good on the Acela?
I like seats a bit isolated from people. I figure the less people around me, the less chance of having some noisy and ill-mannered folks. Here is the seat map:
Is the Lounge Access Coupon transferrable? This is the one you get with the AGR credit card . My parents have one expiring and was wondering if I could somehow use it? And does one need to have a valid ticket departing from the station that day ?
All of a sudden my fnbo card is getting declined everywhere. The last time it worked was yesterday when I bought a UPS shipping label through a reseller. A message came up asking me verify the transaction with some code sent to my email. I did that and the transaction went through. But now it is...
Interesting to learn that points for roommettes go down just before departure . I tried searching for today from NYP-CHI and it says 21,000 points.. It says "1 left at this price". So I guess to get 13k points there would need to be several unsold rooms, not one? And how far in advance will the...
