In addition, the officers are able/allowed to take their cruiser home. There is a neighbor in my neighborhood who is an Amtrak Police officer and his cruiser is parked at his house overnight.
Have times changed?
I took the Acela in First today from Boston to New York. I noticed that the five people who got off the train ahead of me didn't tip at all. I tipped the first class service attendant $10 as I thought was customary, and he seemed grateful for it.
Not only this, but they still do flip these seats because it's a single lever and does not require tools. It's so easy that a passenger could (but probably shouldn't) do it.
Having never traveled in a sleeper before, but looking to do so in the near future, I have a question about the roomette.
Is changing the seat to bed mode and back something that I am allowed to or can do myself, or do I need to ask the attendant every time? I feel like I would spend a lot of...
This was caused by Greyhound's previous owner (FirstGroup) selling the company to the current owner (Flixbus), but without the real estate holdings which were held by a separate company/subsidiary on paper. Flixbus was (and in many cases still is) paying rent to use the stations that are left...
Is Metropolitan Lounge access allowed for Acela First Class tickets on arrival? I have a train booked next month and I will be arriving about a couple hours earlier than where I need to be, and was wondering if I can get into the lounge on my ticket to have a nice place to sit and get some work...
Outside of an API or web scrape, another approach that I would suggest (if current options fail) is to see if you can find an old school travel agent with access to the airline Global Distribution System Sabre and potentially hook into that. Sabre has a native interface with Amtrak's ARROW. The...
This one is also the retail arm of G gauge manufacturer USA Trains, so they don't have to turn a huge retail profit to stay in business as they are also a service center.
Thank you! I was looking for a baggage policy page, and/or the baggage terms on the booking page and didn't find them. They need to make this information easier to find!
Looks like I might have to lug my bag onto SunRail then!
Anyone try their checked baggage service? I will be going to Miami in a couple months and I'm planning on flying down to Orlando to ride Brightline to Miami for the experience (I've been on Brightline before, back when they were only operating between Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach hah!)
I...
Which tourist railroad is this? The only one I was able to find was the Train de Charlevoix and they're running a pair of German DB Class 628.1 DMUs with an Alstom Coradia on the way.
Yeah, the Brightline wikipedia article is worded poorly because whoever made the charts decided to use year-on-year totals. If you go to the Siemens Charger article, you'll get a clearer picture. They currently operate with 20 cars (5 trainsets) and have received 20 more cars to double the train...
