CSX Derailment West of Syracuse, NY - Oct 12, 2018

CSX derailed an engine and a couple of cars just west of Syracuse, NY earlier today. There was extensive track damage. This caused the following disruptions to the Lake Shore and Empire Service:

49(12) canceled at NYP.

449(12) terminated Albany. Alternate transportation provided as far as Buffalo.

64(12) returned to Rochester. It appears passengers were bus bridged to Syracuse where:

281(12) terminated at SYR and turned to represent 64(12) now operating just over 6 hours late.

283(12) terminated at ALB. Alternate transportation provided to Niagara Falls.

For Saturday, October 13:

48(13)/448(13) canceled. Affected passengers to the Capitol Limited and Cardinal via WAS where possible.

280(13) canceled NFL-ALB. Affected passengers to 284.
