A friend is thinking of leaving from Joliet on the Texas Eagle. Is the Amtrak area in the old station? Also if the Texas Eagle comes in late, and I mean really late who helps get the luggage from the Baggage car, if Amtrak people have left.

Amtrak and Metra now use the new station on the east side of the tracks.
 
It's weird... The website claims there are no hours for checked baggage service, though it's still on the timetable.

Anyway, Amtrak station personnel will stay late to handle any checked bags.
 
Wouldn't be the first error in an Amtrak timetable.
