Currently Alberto is a "sub-tropical" depression and not a hurricane. Winds are sustained at 40 mph, however there are flood warnings for tomorrow (5/27) in most of Florida. According to local newscasters, it is unlikely that Alberto will become a hurricane - but newscasters have been known to be wrong.

Being "sub-tropical" is little more than a scientific formality, and it's already a sub-tropical storm, no longer a depression. Peak winds are currently forecasted to reach 60-65mph, just under hurricane strength. The headline-maker with Alberto is definitely going to be the rain, but expect dangerous storm surge at landfall as well.
