Hi Folks,
I emailed Amtrak, to check about the validity of the 15 day rail pass. I was uncertain if one could take a last train before midnight on the 15th day, and arrive after the 15th day. Nope!
This was the nice reply:
Dear Edwin,
Thank you for contacting us regarding USA Rail Pass travel.
The first day of travel counts as one of your allowed travel dates. So, for example, if you start travel on May 1, 2018, all travel must be completed by 11:59pm on May 15, 2018 when traveling on a 15-Day USA Rail Pass.
Though you can purchase a USA Rail Pass online at Amtrak.com, your actual travel segments can only be reserved via this email address from outside of the United States and Canada, at an Amtrak station ticket office or by calling us at 1-800-USA-RAIL (1-800-872-7245) from the United States and Canada. From outside of the United States and Canada, please call 215-856-7924. Agents are available 24/7.
