The SMART train struck a woman this morning. In Santa Rosa (CA) at Hearn Ave. It is reported as a fatality. This is the first time for the new SMART. Not many details. It will be interesting to see the local reaction. SMART did an outstanding job with public education.

Sounds like it was a successful suicide.

Hopefully the local reaction is the same as mine - sadness for the woman and the train engineer.

The collision was witnessed by at least one person who said it appeared the woman knew the train was approaching and made no effort to get out of the way, even as the train’s horned blared to warn her.
