I drive the Run8 train simulator's A-Line route, which covers from Waycross and Jesup, GA all the way down to the south end of Orlando, FL which is used by Amtrak's Silver Service trains. I've passed by a small yard which in real life contains a number of private railcars, many, if not all of which, operate on Amtrak trains from time to time. I was wondering if anyone knew how those cars get on Amtrak trains? Do the Amtrak trains stop and add/remove the cars right there? Is there a special move to/from Jacksonville? Does CSX handle them? The yard in question is here: https://goo.gl/maps/adBv8R8pQAy

Thanks!

The CSX local handles them I believe and takes them to JAX where Amtrak handles them.

Interesting, are there people onboard at that time, or does no one board until Jacksonville?

No people on board if it's moving in freight service. Usually the owner or a mechanical rider will chase the train to watch the cars when cars are in freight service.
