Hello all! I'm taking the LSL from CHI - NYP in February. I know they switched the Lake Shore back to Diner-Lite last year due to Heritage shortages. Is Amtrak likely to restore full diner service to the LSL after CAF has finished the remaining 21 V-II diners? We all know CAF is run by morons but lately they've been releasing a solid two or so 'Viewdiners' a month, so is that possible by February? Thanks in advance. :D

Thank you everyone! Also, should the V-II sleepers arrive by then, and if so, can I expect it on the LSL. I imagine due to the comparatively short duration of the LSL, it wouldn't get priority, but are any of the 25 sleepers to be on the Lake Shore. Taking a sleeper and hope I get the V-I for the in-room toilet.

If the LSL gets a full diner for the NYC portion, why can't they serve dinner after Albany?

It's out at 930P nowadays, why bother. They have done some stuff in the new lounge in the afternoon.
As of two days ago, the lounge stuff, while appreciated, runs only until 1:30. So I wouldn't connect it with the LSL in any way.

Thinking of it more in terms of connecting passengers rather than originating. If you were leaving from Chicago and weren't already at the station, I'm not sure of the value of the LSL layout versus not showing up earlier.
