It is my understanding that it would have to be used by the end of the day tomorrow. The 12-hour refers to the period of time before the beginning of the trip when one first attempt to upgrade. If the trip begins at 7pm tomorrow, one can upgrade no sooner than 7am tomorrow. What are the terms (buy it by end of day tomorrow, or *USE* it by end of day tomorrow?)? And what is meant by "12 hour"?
I need to book a coach trip for a less-than-12-hour trip on the LSL next January. Would love to be in Business Class. Just wondering if this could be used for that. Thanks for answers.
Thank you, Penny. For those of us that have no experience getting or using upgrade coupons, it helps to have an explanation. It is my understanding that it would have to be used by the end of the day tomorrow. Yes, thanks for clarifying. It is valid for travel through 08/01/2017 12:00 AM CT (whether that refers to the start or end time of the trip I leave as an exercise to the reader), and it can only be applied within 12 hours of departure. It is my understanding that it would have to be used by the end of the day tomorrow. I don't know if one can upgrade to BC on the LD trains with a coupon yet. I wouldn't hold out hope on that one. What are the terms (buy it by end of day tomorrow, or *USE* it by end of day tomorrow?)? And what is meant by "12 hour"?

Understood, It happens sometimes.According to this, upgrade coupons are valid on long distance trains now, although the restrictions listed on the coupon do exclude them.
I realize the coupon is less likely to be of use to others as its expiration date approaches, but that's also when it's less likely to be of use to me. Had I known I wouldn't be using it two months ago, I would have offered it up two months ago. Until a few days ago, I had tentative plans to use it myself.
