Someone said on Facebook it's due to engine problems. What happens now? Do they have to wait for another locomotive? From where? Or do they try to fix it?

If they can't get it to run, they will need to obtain a different locomotive. If they are none readily available nearby, they will use a freight locomotive. But the freight railroad must obtain a crew for that locomotive, time to bring it to the Amtrak train, time to hook it up and then because a freight locomotive must go slower then a passenger locomotive, it will be further delayed.

That's why sometimes you may see a train late 3 hours @ station A but it gets to station B 5 hours late, even though the train was stuck only 2 hours.

Freight locomotive will assist to Fort Worth where it will be removed and replaced by an available Amtrak locomotive.

Are they still rerouting the Amtrak Texas Eagle away from Dallas and Fort Worth, till you get to(I think) Longview to resume its usual route? Sad to hear about a delay like this, though I understand sometimes an engine will break down for an Amtrak train.
