Just recently, the Seoul Metropolitan Subway has one fewer operator, thanks to a merger of SMRT (which oversaw lines 5 through 8) into Seoul Metro (which oversaw line 2, and parts of lines 1, 3, 4, and 9, formerly known as SMSC). The newly-merged company is known as Seoul Metro, and oversees the operations of line 2, and parts of lines 1 and 3 through 9).
