Veteran Amtrak and Via rider but brand new to this site. Have already found it to be enormously useful even though I have much experience riding Amtrak, so I decided to jump on board. But as I feel my way around I have questions, the first of which is what is the purpose of and value in the paid membership? I cannot find that info anywhere though it could very well be right under my nose but I'm not seeing it. Is it to post here? If so, I'll soon find that out if I'm not successful. is it to support the site? Appreciate any guidance,

Welcome aboard!:hi:

The paid subscription is strictly voluntary, is to support the website and there are a couple of additional sub-forums that are only accessible with a paid subscription. (Those are not used very much.)

You do not need to subscribe in order to post on AU.
Take it easy .......

Take the train instead and enjoy the ride!

The view is much better at 3 feet than it is at 30,000 feet!
