Friday at 11:00 AM NYP to Washington. Pretty uneventful trip, kept to schedule despite a couple of slow spots and heavy loading. Attendant kept coming through with garbage bag to collect rubbish, train was clean, but shows signs of aging.

They are 16 years old. While that is almost new in railroad life spans, it has been run hard. Additionally, things weren't built to last 50 years.
