Beginning the weekend of April 8th & 9th schedule changes are occuring to some weekend Acela and Regional trains. The changes are reflected when trying to book new travel. If you were previously booked on an affected train and unexpectedly receive(d) an email with changes, this schedule alteration might be the reason. Easiest way to see the changes is to search between major city pairs prior to this weekend, and then search this particular weekend or a weekend thereafter and compare. Some trains are new, some are discontinued, some are extended, some operate on opposing weekend days, only one weekend day instead of both, or both instead of just one.

Cursory summary:

New #s: 149, 189, 407, 2215, 2224, 2248, 2249, 2261, 2275

Discontinued #s: 2207, 2211, 2212, 2221, 2225, 2250, 2295, 2297

Now Both/Now One/Swap #s: 96, 159, 163, 194, 463, 2208, 2254, 2260

Thanks for this. I received a new eTicket for a long-reserved trip today and could not figure out why. Now that I look more closely, the old one was 154 and the new one is 82. Same departure and arrival times.

Boston-NYP-Washington Schedules posted today.. A very interesting note. 2261 will be Sunday only and will be the only Acela train to bypass Metropark on weekends.

Regarding 2261 and Metropark, it depends on which timetable you are looking at. The Boston-Washington timetable (W4 4/8/17) shows 2261 not stopping at MET. The New York-Washington timetable (W2 4/8/17) shows 2261 stopping at MET. The booking system says it stops at MET, so the W4 timetable is in error.
