My father purchased a gift certificate for me as a Christmas gift. However, I never received a certificate in the mail, an e-mail from Amtrak, or anything in my AGR account (I also checked my junk folders).

My dad e-mailed me the receipt from Amtrak, and it has my name and address, and underneath my address it says: "Shipping Method: Download & Print." Does this mean I can print off what he e-mailed to me and use that as the certificate? What he e-mailed me has both an Order ID and a ten digit alphanumeric code, if that matters.
 
Where is the gift certificate from? Amtrak, which are sold through the Amtrak online store(operated by Staples) where they usually send an actual paper certificate or is it from "Amtrak Vacations"? There is a significant difference. "Amtrak vacations" is actually a third party travel agency.

Perhaps have your Father (since he is the actual purchaser) make an inquiry?

I believe your dad was suppose to download & print the certificate offered at the time of purchase. Though, as others have suggested, your dad should be able to request a duplicate. Its the 10 digit code that's most important, and what you need to offer when later buying the tickets.
