Passing through on 92 on Friday night and 91 this morning, I noticed Amtrak P42 #159 and Northeast Regional Amfleet I Cafe #43372 at the Jacksonville Amtrak station. I have noticed Amfleet II cars there before, but never a locomotive or Amfleet I. They were located on the stub track with the high level platform closest to the station. On the next track over (a full length that I have never seen used) was an FRA inspection car. All three pieces of equipment were there on both days. Does anyone know why they were there?

I know a few years back Amtrak ran a fire department training train with one P42DC and an Amfleet I cafe from JAX to Lugoff, SC (two miles south of Camden) so it might be another one of those. That was a Sunday train.

I believe I saw an Amfleet last time I passed through JAX.

They are for training.
What kind of training?
