Hold on to your pants riders, the prices are going up, and it's the majority of the menu. Even I'm scratching my head over this one... However, there will be combos offered, which actually make the total price lower than it is currently.

What inflation asks Social Security recipients and others on Fixed Incomes????

Can Rail Fares and Sleepers be next

Hopefully this won't cut your tips!
From what I know, rail fare and sleeper price hikes can be next, but not that often. As far as I know, they can happen once or twice a year (Happened last November, and again last August), but the change in price is usually negligible, typically less than $20 of change (For example, the rise of prices on the Zephyr over its entire route was as of follows: Low bucket coach, non-saver: +$1; Highest bucket coach: +$3; Lowest bucket roomette: +$3; Highest bucket roomette: +$8; Lowest bucket bedroom: +$7; Highest bucket bedroom: +$17).

As for price hikes affecting my trips, it does not affect my trips, as I use the train practically every time I go out of town (whether it be for a short hop within Oregon or a cross-country adventure to the Northeast or the Midwest), as I do not fly within the Lower 48 States, nor do I have a car.
