We're just passing New Rochelle at 35 mph on America's only high-speed rail. 
Train is running on time, and the first class cabin is not crowded, so I get a 4-top all to myself, at least so far. I had a little scare when the conductor noticed that my ticket was dated for a trip two days ago! Apparently, the ticket agent in Baltimore who processed my upgrade coupon 2 days ago goofed up. And that was her second goof-up, as the first upgrade she gave me was for the 7:30 AM departure, not the 5:30 AM departure. I did notice that one, but didn't notice the date goof-up. But ni problem, the conductor took care of it, and the new conductor who boarded in New York had the adjustment in her computer, too.So I'm good to go.
Great, we're going 30 mph and being passed my a Metro-North train. "High speed rail," indeed.
On-board service is OK, but once the attendant brought me my breakfast, he kind of disappeared. No offer for a second breakfast (not that I need one) when we left New York, and I had to flag him down to get a refill on my coffee. I ordered the breakfast scramble, which looked real small in the plate, but was actually a lot of food. Looks like it was typical reheated airline-style food, pre-cooked and heated on board -- probably with a convection oven, not a microwave, given the appearance of the food. Sorry, all you fresh-food fiends, you're not going to find it on the Acela, first class. But still, better than the cafe car fare.
Going through Port Chester at 15 mph.
30 mph through Greenwich. At least we finally go into CT.
Just passed Riverside. We're runnin in the local tracks, I think we might be following a commuter train, which explains the low-speed operation.
We're about to arrive in Stamford. I guy wearing a fancy suit is getting off. He boarded in New York. I don't know, taking the Acela Express first class between New York and Stamford seems like a bit over overkill to me.
Finally, out of Stamford, we're going 70 mph.
