I suggest timing your showers out to when you are traveling over flat land. Taking a shower while going over a mountain is quite a bumpy experience.

I didn't understand this one. If you are worried about this kind of thing, I would suggest doing it going over a mountain where the train seems to be barely moving, vs. 79mph over the high plains. Or like my wife, wait until a smoke stop.

I just chalked it up to the writer not being an experienced Amtrak long distance train passenger.

Or not shower unless it becomes absolutely necessary. that is usually my approach
