I usually view a live cam every spring to watch Peregrine Falcons hatch and raise their young. It is situated on a ledge upon the Rachel Carson building, and looks down at the Harrisburg train station.
I grabbed a few screen shots yesterday and thought I would share. Sort of Amtrak related!

I'll have to alert my mother to this webcam - she is an avid birder and loves watching the nesting webcams in spring.

I am an avid birder also. Definitely have her check it out. They show various views of the ledge, and close ups of the nesting area.

Since a peregrine falcon can stoop at 200 mph, I think it just might be able to catch #43, even if the train got a bit of a head start.  ;-)

They used to nest on a building near the place I worked in DC. The falcon building's janitor said every other day or so he would clean up pigeon carcasses from the sidewalk.

Talk about a target rich environment...

And even though they caused him a good amount of extra work it sounded like the janitor was pretty proud of "his" falcons.

One of the taller high rises near me (30 plus stories) will have peregrine's roosting and, um, dining, on the windowsills.

I know that it's been quite some time since my original post here, but I was wondering if you ever told your mother about the webcam? There is a lot of activity going on right now.
